Columbus CyberKnife Recognizes Four Years of Service to Cancer Patients

This month, Columbus CyberKnife celebrates four years of service to the area’s cancer patient community. Since opening in 2010, Columbus CyberKnife, in partnership with Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, has treated more than 900 patients. While lung and brain tumors are frequently treated diseases, we also treat cancer of the prostate, spine, pancreas, kidney and liver, as well as other medical conditions like trigeminal neuralgia and arteriovenous malformations.

CyberKnife® is an advanced technology that performs stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), a nonsurgical method of treating tumors with high-dose radiation in five or fewer procedures. The capabilities of our center’s advanced tracking system allow for greater accuracy, quicker treatment times for patients and better avoidance of healthy tissue during treatment.

As the first and only CyberKnife treatment provider in Columbus, our dedicated staff works to stay on the leading edge of cancer care through clinical research and a recent upgrade of our cancer treatment technology to the next-generation CyberKnife® 10.0 system.
