SBRT Endorsed for Prostate Cancer by ASTRO

The American Society for Radiation Oncology recently endorsed stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) as a first-line treatment option for prostate cancer, highlighting SBRT as a primary form of treatment for prostate cancer.

Columbus CyberKnife performs SBRT using CyberKnife technology, which delivers precisely targeted, high-dose radiation beams to the prostate. Radiation exposure to healthy cells is limited because CyberKnife delivers radiation with extreme accuracy to a pinpoint location. Tumors can be treated in five or fewer procedures, with minimal side effects.

Since opening in 2010, our center has treated more than 140 prostate cancer patients with stereotactic body radiation therapy. Read more about our experience treating prostate cancer here.
